Captain Lisa St.Pierre Ferguson is selected by the United States Air Force, as the outstanding Advanced Practice Nurse of 2004 (Nurse Practitioner). Among her achievements, Capt. Ferguson saved the USAF $334K. She was recognized for : Command Proficiency, Crisis Management, Lifesaving, Effective Patient Treatment, and Reorganization of Records and Documentation. Four officers were recognized by the USAF in their medical specialties. Capt. Ferguson earned an MSN, specialization Nurse Practitioner, from Texas Women’s University in 2002, with a 4.0 GPA. Her TWU mentor, Peggy Mancuso was an honored guest at the symposium. Capt. Ferguson is a DeSoto, TX, HS graduate.

  • Displayed outstanding leadership: acting Flight CC for 18 days; implemented fitness plan for 59; #1 pass rate in wing
  • Readiness authority: cleared 887 members during mass physical days; deployed 3K to OEF; ready rate #1 in AMC
  • Directed 43 MDG pap smear program: tracked 1.4K results; ensured proper follow-ups/interventions/referrals
  • Skilled clinician: performed 3.6K GYN procedures in-house; zero complications; cost avoidance $98K
  • Exemplary practitioner: evaluated/treated 2K patients; generated savings of $220K; customer satisfaction 98%
  • Colposcopy program director: coordinated two providers/room/staff; completed 134 procedures; recouped $16K
  • Managed MTF dysplasia program; coordinated with 9 teams; ensured treatment/follow-up for 450+ patienst
